PSL...or pumpkin spice latte

There is a craze that goes on each fall for a PSL, or pumpkin spice latte.  The deliciousness of fall pumpkins mixed with coffee...can we say yum?!

As I promised, here is my homemade version to use some of that fresh pumpkin we made yesterday.
I topped it with homemade whipped cream...doesn't it look scrumptious?

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

2 cups milk
2 tbsps pumpkin purée
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup strong coffee (or for a stronger coffee flavor, use instant coffee or espresso)
Vanilla
Pumpkin pie spice
Whipped cream

Add the milk, pumpkin, and sugar into a pot.  Heat on low until warm, stirring to mix the pumpkin well.
Add the coffee, mix, and keep heating over low until hot but not boiling.
It will look all nice and creamy and foamy.
Remove from heat and add a splash of vanill and sprinkle some pumpkin pie spice (I don't put a measurement on the spice because some people like a stronger spice than others...sprinkle to taste).
And that's it!  Top with whipped cream and add more pumpkin pie spice!  Easy!

Enjoy!

Happily Homemade
